My Review
10 Things I Hate About You is a pretty solid watch, especially if you’re into classic 90s romcoms. The story is fun and easy to follow, and the cast has great chemistry that keeps you entertained throughout.
The standout moment of the whole film is easily the bleacher singing scene. Heath Ledger running around the school stadium serenading Julia Stiles is equal parts embarrassing and completely charming, and it’s impossible not to smile watching it. Ledger brings so much natural charisma to Patrick Verona that you completely understand why Kat eventually lets her guard down.
The Shakespeare influence gives the story a bit more depth than your average teen movie, and Julia Stiles does a great job making Kat feel like a real, layered person rather than just the typical grumpy girl trope.
It’s not without its flaws some parts feel a little dated and predictable but overall it’s a genuinely enjoyable film with a lot of heart. If you’re looking for a fun, feel good movie to watch on a Friday night, this one is worth your time.
