Smile follows a therapist named Dr. Rose Cotter after she witnesses a patient die in a horrifying and unexplained way. Soon after, Rose begins experiencing terrifying visions of people smiling at her in unnatural and disturbing ways. As the strange events become more intense, she realizes she may be dealing with a supernatural curse that passes from person to person through trauma and death. While trying to uncover the truth, Rose’s mental state begins falling apart, making it hard for others to believe her. The movie combines psychological horror with jump scares and explores themes of grief, trauma, and fear.
